Five years of capacity and community building for nonprofit communicators: celebrate with us?
The Nonprofit MarCommunity blog is five years old this month!
When I first envisioned this blog, I wanted to create a platform where nonprofit communicators could share their experiences and knowledge with each other. I had dabbled with live events, which were successful, but so much work and accessible to fewer people. I started a LinkedIn group which was fairly active at the time, but not quite what I was trying to do. So I landed on the idea of a multi-author blog.
Five years later, I’m proud of the solid library of content we’ve created, thanks to the generous community of guest bloggers who have stepped forward (please see the full author list below). The blog has grown into what I had hoped for: a comprehensive how-to guide, covering many aspects of nonprofit communications.
The Nonprofit MarCommunity blog has also been a tremendous amount of work. I started the blog with a two-year-old napping in the next room and as a part-time project on the side of my copywriting and communications consultancy (which it still is, but the kid is now in Grade 1). So five years in, I’d love to know: has it been worth the effort?
Nonprofit MarCommunity five year anniversary! Please tell us: has the blog helped you? Click To TweetIf the Nonprofit MarCommunity blog has helped you, would you share how?
I would love to know if this blog has supported you in your work? Whether you’ve been reading or following for five years or if you’ve discovered the blog in recent weeks or months:
- If any post we’ve published has helped you in some way, would you tell us about it? Please be specific if you can (about the post or author), so we can show our contributors some appreciation.
- For our contributors, has publishing on this platform helped you? How?
- If you work at a funding or capacity-building organization, do you share the content with the nonprofits and charities you support?
- If you attended #NPMC chats (currently on a break), how did they help?
Please share your answers to any of these questions the blog post comments below.
Thank you in advance for helping to celebrate this milestone!
