Call for submissions: 2018 nonprofit communications topic wish list
I’m looking for experienced nonprofit communicators who want to write for this blog.
The Nonprofit MarCommunity is a community blog: the content is from the community, for the community. And I’d like to invite you to share your own valuable insights and experiences with your peers!
2018 nonprofit communications topic wish list
Here’s a topic wish list I’ve compiled by asking nonprofit communicators what they need help with:
- Getting permission to use stories, photos and videos: how to implement a release form system
- Media monitoring (how-to or list of options, tools)
- How to evaluate speaking invitations for your nonprofit’s leaders
- Paying for digital advertising (case study on Youtube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
- How to select the right internal communications tools
- How to make financial reporting fun/interesting
- Essential communications elements of a successful advocacy campaign
- Comparison of tools for online surveys
- Email newsletter vs email blasts/campaigns: what’s the difference, how to balance them
- How to prioritize a very limited budget
- How to decide between free vs paid (for webinars, software tools, stock photos, video)
- Content strategy blueprints (examples and case studies)
- How to collect and use stories for internal and external audiences
- How to work in multiple languages
- Internal communication tips when working in a cross-cultural environment
- Review: what’s working well in open source software
Call for submissions to the Nonprofit MarCommunity blog
Can you help your peers with any of the topics above? Do you want to write for the blog?
If so, here’s what to do:
- Review our editorial guidelines
- Head over to the contact form and share:
- The topic you’d like to cover
- Your real-world experience with this topic (1-2 sentences)
- Links to sample blog posts you’ve written in the past (on any topic)
I will do my best to respond to all interested bloggers based on the level of interest/number of responses I receive.
Priority goes to in-house communicators – for now!
I love, welcome and appreciate posts from my fellow consultants, who have provided some of the most popular and valuable content on the blog to date. But to ensure a balance of perspectives, I will be prioritizing submissions from in-house nonprofit communicators for the first half of 2018.
I look forward to welcoming many new and returning bloggers this year.
